How to get more referrals and leads? 26 Awesome tips

Do you struggle to find referrals and leads? How to get more referrals and leads are maybe one of the biggest obstacle many online marketers struggle with. Well, I have found some ways that works very well. I have tried out quite a lot of ways. So I have made a list of 26 Awesome ways to get more referrals and leads.

No clue how to get referrals and leads?

When I started as an affiliate marketer I had no clue what so ever on how to get referrals and leads. I noticed that most online marketers were incredible focused on this. After doing my affiliate training at Wealthy Affiliate I started to find more affiliate partners and the focus on becoming visible and getting referrals and leads became more relevant for me. I got a ton of advice on how to get more referrals and leads.

Listen to others

I listened to other marketers, read blog after blog to find the best way to promote my affiliate partners. One thing that struck me while doing this was that most marketers use the same channels. And some did not want to reveal the channels they used in fear of competition. My advice is to note down what people tell you. You may get use for it at some point in time.

Some of the channels are evidently relevant to use because of popularity. I did what all the others did without asking myself if this was the right channels for me to use.

It came to a point where I was asking myself if this was the best way to go about it. Is the most popular channels always the best way? What if I started to think more out of the box? What if I could get referrals and leads using channels that were not so usual for affiliate marketers to use? Would that even work? I decided to give it a try.

I found some. Of course, I use all the popular ways that is proven to work, but in addition I go out of the box and try different ways to see if it works for me. I advice you to try out things you never tried before to see if it will help you. You may be surprised.

Many years ago I was attending to a leader seminar with Brian Klemmer through my work.
He died in 2011, but have left a huge legacy behind.
One of his beliefs was that change starts in the heart. He was also a master on how to think out of the box. To get more referral and leads it is important to practice the skill of thinking outside the box.

My Top 26 List to get more referrals and leads

1. Social media

Social Media is the normal way you learn to promote your stuff online and where you get referrals and leads from. Facebook and Instagram are definitely the biggest platforms and can generate a lot of traffic. You Tube, Pinterest, Tik Tok, Linked in too are huge platforms. You Tube is maybe the most effective way to generate referrals on social Media.

I created a Tube channel because I think that is a good way to leverage my website. I must admit I have not done anything but creating video articles and video snippets until now, but I get a lot of traffic and leads through You Tube on some of my affiliate programs related to marketing.

Another quite new Social Media and networking Platform I think you should pay attention to is Webtalk.

This platform actually pays 50% of their ad revenue to their users. It is free to create an account and to start earning once you completed your profile. They have an affiliate program as well. I had never heard of it before and thought it would be great to check it out. To my surprise this was a real good place to promote my affiliate partners, do networking and get more leads and referrals.

All in All Facebook, YouTube and Webtalk are those three social platforms gave me most traffic, referrals and leads.

I do not know of no other platform who pays you to be socially active.

2. Organic SEO training

 

 

 

Online search is definitely the best way if you get it to work. You need seo training to do that. Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate I have learned techniques and methods that helped me get to page 1. Another reason is that I have used the most advanced Keyword search tool built for internet called Jaaxy.

3. Clickbank

Another program I use is Clickbank. This is the favorite tool of many affiliate marketers. It is free to create an account and start earning. It takes some time to get rolling with click bank, but if you follow the Clickbank Spark university you will have a great chance to succeed.

4. CBproAds

CBproAds is a storefront without a website. This program is so easy and have generated a lot of leads and referrals for me.

5. MLM affiliate platforms – a different approach to get affiliate leads

 

I did not want to use the same platforms as everyone else so I started asking people I got in contact with about tips on good platforms for quality leads. One that really stuck out was MLM gateway. First I thought – But this is only for people who do MLM hence the name.

But I was so wrong about this. An affiliate marketing friend of mine who operates in a totally different niche than mine told me he found this portal a while ago and it was a golden nugget in his eyes. Multi level marketing marketers are often interested in Affiliate marketing and vice versa.

So I created an account and became an affiliate. Same day I got several referrals, contacts and leads. I have got sales from this platform as well. He was right. There are plenty of networkers within MLM that are interested in affiliate marketing products. So if you want a super place to promote yourself I strongly recommend MLM gateway.

6. Wealthy Affiliate blog rocks

Yes, believe it or not – the Wealthy Affiliate blog is worth its weight in gold. These blogs are highly valued by Google. You can make your own Wealthy Affiliate brand as some Wealthy Affiliate bloggers do, but you can not add other referral links on this blog. You may want to read my latest Wealthy Affiliate Blog.

7. Build an Email list – A powerful evergreen tool

Building an email list is a must for affiliate marketers. This is one of the most traditional ways to get more referrals and leads. And it works. Email marketing does not seem to go out-of-date. And it can become a huge asset to you if you use it rights.

8. Cashjuice –Earn… Learn…Advertise…The FREE Way

Cashjuice is a platform where you get a blog and can share your affiliate links in different groups, create a network and make ads. This platform has generated traffic, referrals and leads for me and I find it to be a valuable platform.

9. Niche Online Forums, groups and discussion groups

Niche Online forums and discussion groups are also great for making yourself visible and to get more referrals and leads.

10. PPC – or Advertising channels

Personally I do not do paid advertising yet. I might use it later on. Ads are great if you want to reach huge reach in a short period of time. But to make PPC effective and profitable you need to know your audience well so you get the best results from clicks on your ads. If not, You will probably just waste your money.

12. Messenger

I have not used any messenger marketing programs yet but I know many who use this actively and get good results from it. Chatbots and messenger apps are a good tool for growth and have high opening conversion rates. If you are using Facebook Ads this will be a great way to get more ROAS and build a contact list through the Facebook messenger autoresponder. The benefits with messenger marketing is that you can mass message and target specific customers and add customized chat bots.

Using Social proof is always an effective way of getting more referrals and leads. Nothing is like real results for real people.

Telling your story or someone else s story is maybe the way that will impact people the most.

14. Referral strategy process and programs

There is a multitude of processes and programs you can create to get more referrals and strategies.

Invite referrals is a great Referral software for mobiles, websites and social.

15. Share with Your Family, Friends, classmates and colleagues.

Do not underestimate them and the power of their networks, but by all means do not spam them in any way. You do not want to destroy your close relationships. You can share your tips as part of a normal conversation. I never push my business on anyone. I just tell them what I do and l let them ask the questions.

16. Car Ads and banners

This can be effective if you are using the car a lot driving around. People get used to see your name and website and can be an effective way to get more traffic and referrals.

17. Invite people to join your affiliate or referral programs.

Just ask people directly, on the phone, by email or make a post or a video where you invite people. This is more effective than you may think.

18. Create an affiliate or referral challenge

I learned from several affiliate marketers that they got plenty of referrals by creating referral challenges. I have joined challenges online myself many times, so I guess this is a good way to make referrals.

19. Business cards and flyers

Old fashioned? Maybe, but not out-of-date yet. Some affiliate programs have business cards with the referral link incorporated. That could be a good idea to take to different types of events and meetings. Flyers can be left in boards, offices etc. I do not use this method myself so I can not confirm how effective it is. Looking at it in a different perspective all the things you do to promote your business or affiliate partners will add up over time.

20. Networking events

Networking events are of course a very important meeting ground for getting new referrals and leads in general. I have been to a couple of events and I can write under that it is a great way to network.

21. Community Events offline and online

Offline Community events can be great for some niches and not so good for others, but you never know before you try. These are old and proven methods and I still think that these methods work to spark curiosity, be seen and get referrals.

Online community events works mostly the same way only that it is online. You can create automated events, Hybrid events and Live online events. It is up to you to find out what works best for you.

Some like to promote their brand or business by wearing their logo or brand name or create gadgets or swags to become more visible.

23. Give people what they want

When you give people what they are looking for, your chances of getting referrals are much higher than when you just give them what you think is best for them. To do that you need to know what your audience is looking for. Do you know what your audience really want? If not, you can make a survey to try and find out or simply ask your existing audience.

24. Give valuable and useful information

Being helpful is always rewarding. If you help others to succeed you will definitely get a + in their book. By giving people valuable and useful information where they actually see results will strengthen their trust to you, your authority and integrity and the connection you get with your audience. I have learned in the short time I have been an affiliate marketer that this is maybe the very best advice for getting more referrals and leads.

25. Be an inspiration to others

When you tell your story you can be an inspiration to others without knowing it yourself or without feeling that you are an inspiring person. But there will always be someone out there who can relate to you and will be inspired by you. So do not be afraid to share your own story, your mistakes, fails and successes.

It may be just what someone is looking for to take action in their own life, to learn and grow. I know this to be true from my own experience. I have many times heard I inspired others to do something or change something. I never knew until they told me. It is wonderful to hear that.

I have also been inspired by others to do changes and think differently in my own life.

I am sure you have experienced it too. Who have inspired you the most? Have you ever told them that?

26. Love what you do

When you know why you do what you do, and love what you do, people will notice it. You are more enthusiastic, happier, engaged and energetic. Your persona and energy will attract new referrals and leads to you. We are all different and we will attract the audience that is right for us.

I am currently working on getting more visitors to my site, which is quite hard, I use a few of these points such as social media which I know is definitely important as you can sometimes see results fast. I also love the training at wealthy affiliate about SEO practices and much more!

    As for others, I’m yet to try and implement so thanks for this information!

      Hi Sariyah! To get visitors you can use the same tips and methods. Referrals and leads comes from many channels of traffic. Organic SEO is of course the best way and often the most difficult one to master. 

  3. I think the hardest part of my journey is getting those quality leads to my offers. After reading this article I have a better understanding how to attract more targeted people to my offers. I realized thinking outside the box is important as well , trying to do things other people are not doing.

Getting quality leads is the hardest part and difficult if you have no idea who your audience is or who you are talking to and where to find them. Sometimes you just have to try out new tools to find out what works for you.

  5. Thanks for sharing tall these tips about the the leads or the traffic. As an affiliate marketer myself, I can always use the leads for my site. I have to say that organic SEO is the best way and the most sustainable of all time. Community events and online is another good approach. Also, as long as you are informative and join as many social networks as much as you can and help others you will win them. Also, I think building the email list is another good approach.

  8. Awesome and helpful advice you’ve given here! I have tried WebTalk before – about 4 months ago – but I’m still yet to get used to the platform. Mostly, I use social media to get referrals and leads. The ones I use most are: Facebook (including Facebook groups), Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and this somehow new app called “Peoople” to which you can earn leads and get paid for using the app as well.

      I also use other social media, but I do not earn anything on being social on these platforms. That is why I prefer Webtalk for business and social, because there are a lot of people I can network with and at the same time earn money. 

      Never heard about the app you mentioned, but I might take a look. Social CRM is becoming more and more popular now so I am not surprised if other platforms and apps starts paying you for using their platforms.
